When it comes to the pace of a year, Autumn always feels like relief after the hot days of summer and yet, the most hectic as families prepare for the upcoming holidays, children settle into school and businesses work toward their last quarter goals.
There’s something new and fresh about January but we’re still over 100 days from ringing in the New Year.

Here are 3 ways you can make the rest of 2017 count:
#1 – Stop doing at least 2 big things in your life or business
We all overcommit at times so now is the perfect chance to say “no” even if you’ve already said “yes.” This might be a personal commitment that is taking up too much time and energy, a client who isn’t showing up or even a launch in the works that just isn’t clicking.
Chances are, you know in your gut which things you’d get rid of if you could. The only real challenge is having the courage to speak up.
Inside our 100 days of Awesome Facebook group this week I’ll be sharing some scripts and tips for saying no and setting boundaries without feeling like a horrible quitter.
#2 – Get crystal clear on the goals you can still achieve by December
No matter how ambitious or realistic your January goals were; life happened. Maybe budgets were tight or there was a family emergency. Maybe you just shifted your focus and decided that x and y were no longer in alignment with your goals.
Whatever happened over the last 8 months, now is the perfect time to reconsider those goals and decide that now is the right time to pick a few goals you can achieve by the end of the year.
(P.S. I’m sharing mine – business and personal – today in the Facebook group)
#3 – Build some Habits
If I could look back on 2016 early and identify the most beneficial thing I’ve done it would be, 100%, building new habits. When you’re an entrepreneur it’s easy to set your own rules, build your own routine and then… let it all fall apart because I’M THE BOSS AND I CAN DO WHAT I WANT!
So back in February I started using the Productive app (which I shared about here) and set some easy daily goals for myself. Over the last 7 months that has snowballed into a regular grocery shopping and cooking routine, household chores and even taking the dogs out for regular walks.
Building the same kind of habits in your business life can improve your week as well. Regularly writing content, engaging with your community, following up with clients, learning, making sales, pitching the media… all good things that tend to fall by the wayside when we’re freestylin’ a schedule.
No matter how you approach our final 100 days of 2017, I encourage you not to give up before the finish line. Your year does not have to be defined by a bad week in April or the fact that July was a dud. Make the most of the time you have now.
Now, about that Facebook group…
For the rest of the year, I’m going to be running a free Facebook community for entrepreneurs who want to make the most of 2017. We’re just about 115 days from January 1st which means you can absolutely have 100 awesome days to get closer to your goals.
Inside you’ll find some prompts, resources like scripts or videos I’ve found helpful, coffee dates where I pop in with a cup of caffeine and share some ideas and answer questions and an awesome community of people.
Click here to request to join the group and we’ll be approving people every day.
In case you’re a jerk, here are the rules:
